June 25, 2008

On June 24, 2008  at approximately 12:15p.m. the Wise County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from an oilfield worker in the Cottondale area.  The worker reported that while checking gas lines, they saw a young girl running out of her driveway crying.  They later saw an adult man, duct taping the child to a tree in the yard.  The caller stated that the older person appeared to have some sort of pistol or weapon with him and that the man had placed tape across the girls mouth.

When Wise County Deputies arrived on the scene, the child was still taped to the tree.  Deputies saw a small boy, later identified as the victims 11 yoa brother in the process of un-taping the victim.  Deputy Cavin Riggs identified the actor as GLENN CASTILLE (step father to both the 9yoa girl and the 11 yoa boy) and immediately placed him into custody. The reported weapon was recovered and was found to be an air soft gun.

Investigators have been told that this taping incident has happened in the household in the past for discipline and  as a game.  Child Protective Services were called to the scene where they determined that all three of the children at the residence would be placed with a family friend while the investigation continued.

Castille was arrested and transported to the Wise County Jail where he awaits arraignment on charges of INJURY TO A CHILD

   This is an ongoing investigation.
