Wise Eyes Alert-Weather Related Road Closures
Wise County was hit hard with rain and wind yesterday June 25th.
Some areas around the county received as much as 5.3 inches of rain. With the
amount of rain falling at such a fast pace there has been damage to the area
roads causing road closures all over the county. This is a list of roads closed
at this time and with the continued rainfall there may be additional roads
closed as the rain falls.
The roads closed are: Fm 3259 between South FM 51and Paradise. The bridge North
of Boyd, on FM 730 West of 114. CR 2622 one mile East of North FM 51 the bridge
is out. CR 2845 by FM 730 North
County Line. CR 4191 is closed.
The following roads are passable but have high water running across them, CR
3250 Golaz Bridge is passable only in pickup trucks. CR 1590 Sandy Creek has had
water over the road, CR 3386 and CR 3381 have had water running over them but
the water has receded today.
Always be cautious when there is water crossing a road, when the water is
moving swiftly it will cause the road to wash out and cause dangerous areas in
the roadway that cannot be seen until you drive your vehicle into it. If there
is water crossing the road turnaround, don’t drown.
