Wise County Deputy Gets Promotion
Wise County Sheriff’s Office has promoted Deputy G. C. Gòmez to the rank of sergeant. Deputy Gòmez began his law enforcement career in September of 1998 when he worked as a communications officer. Gòmez left the Communications Division to assist Lt Randy Joy with the Information Technology Department in and around the county offices. Deputy Gòmez completed the peace officers training and came back to work at the Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy in 2004.
During this time, Deputy Gòmez has received his EMT Certification, his Firefighter Certification and is a Certified Arson Investigator. Deputy G. C. Gòmez has been appointed Assistant Fire Marshal and handles fire investigation when County Fire Marshal Paul Cunningham is not available. With all of these accomplishments it’s not hard to see why Deputy G. C. Gòmez was named Patrol Deputy of the year for 2007.
