Welcome to our web site. One of the missions of the Wise County Sheriff's Office is to stay abreast of any and all technology that will better serve our citizens. The internet has proven to be essential for communications among law enforcement. I view it as a chance to communicate better with our citizenry. Please pay special attention to those programs designed to solicit citizen input. Being from the "Old School" I feel that law enforcement was never intended to do or be all. To make a large impact on crime it takes the Sheriff's Office and all law abiding citizens working together to make a big impact. Remember "EVIL DOES GOOD WHEN GOOD DOES NOTHING". Our goal is to provide our citizens with as much information on crime trends as possible and provide avenues for you to supply us with information. You will be able to keep up with current events, court decisions and problems that impact our personnel. Our News Release site will allow you to stay abreast of newsworthy events in our County. We believe that a better informed community will become a safer community. Our Bulletins lists crimes and special "Be On the Look Out" alerts that are active, current missing persons, and other crime information. This information is available directly through E-Mail, also. VISION OF THE WISE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT To represent the citizens of Wise County in a manner that exhibits pride, efficiency, and individual respect for all. To be a model law enforcement agency that promotes cooperation among all representatives of the Criminal Justice system. To improve the “Quality of life” in Wise County by soliciting cooperation from all law abiding citizens. To not only combat crime efficiently but also to provide those services that removes the “Fear of Crime” from the majority of our citizens. MISSION OF THE WISE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENTThe Sheriff’s Department is the public safety division of County Government that provides all citizens with courtesy, service, and protection by responding to emergencies, investigating crimes and assisting with the prosecution of those charged with crimes. The mission includes providing citizens and groups with preventive measures to keep them from being victims of crimes and to coordinate public safety activities in the county with other public safety agencies. Our mission is to maintain a safe, cost efficient but secure detention facility for violators of the law. The long-term mission is to educate the public and implement programs that in Wise County will keep the citizens "Safe and Sound."I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character, or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and other accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the Constitution and the community I serve."
